| A really good cup of coffee? |
 |
How to have a really good cup of coffee? One that brings out the true taste of the coffee's origin? (we are not talking about flavoured coffee) The key lies in freshness.
Nothing beats freshness.
No matter how you package it, be it vacuum packed, nitrogen flushed or have a one-way valve, coffee can only maintain its true quality and freshness for up to 3, or maybe 4 weeks once it has been roasted. That is why freshness is key. Our environmentally friendly packaging retains the coffee freshness for up to 3 weeks.

| Preparing coffee |
|
Coffee can be enjoyed in many different ways.
I am talking about different ways of brewing, the most common ways are French press, percolator, drip-brewer or espresso machine.
hence, it is important to have proper grind for the different method.
Freshly ground
Coffee will maintain it's optimal aroma and flavor better as whole bean. One should only grind the coffee just before brewing.
French Press - Corse grind
Perks - medium grind
Brewer with filter - fine grind
Espresso - very fine grind
Turkish - very very fine grind
Water has to be clean and has no other bad taste or smell.
Temperature of water should be 195F to 205F.
Freshly brewed
Coffee should be served within 30 minutes after it has been brewed. |
| The Grinders |
|
The best and most common burr grinder is a conical burr grinder. These devices actually crush the beans between a moving surface and a non-moving surface. The positioning on the burr is what regulates the ground size, which allows for a more consistent grind. Since the beans are being crushed rather than sliced, there is not a noticeable increase in heat when using a burr grinder, so there will not be a burned taste or a loss in flavor. |
| Storing Coffee |

|
There are many misconceptions on the way roasted coffee should be stored. Roasted coffees do not like moisture, air, light, and heat. Storing your coffee away from these elements will keep it fresher longer. Therefore, an airtight container stored in a cool, dry, dark place is the best environment for your coffee.
Should I refrigerate Coffee?
No, absolutely never. Due to its humidity, the fridge is an absolute no-no to put coffee. This is because coffee is porous, and can absorb other flavors lingering in your fridge.
Should I freeze coffee?
Coffee should always be fresh. The time period we suggest is three weeks to store coffee in order to retain its optimal taste. However, if you happen to go away and not use it within this period, the freezer can be an acceptable one-time deal. What this means is that once you take it out of the freezer, it should never go back in. The constant changes in temperature will affect the coffee adversely. The frozen moisture on your coffee will melt and be absorbed into the bean. The goal in freezing coffee is to keep it away from moisture. If you have a lot of coffee to store, divide it up into weekly portions and wrap them up using freezer bags. Take the weekly portion when you need it, and store it in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place. Do not put it back into the freezer. |

- One minute - white teas
- Two minutes – some green teas, and high elevation black teas
- Three minutes – green teas (but at 80 degrees C)
- Three minutes- oolong teas and low grown black teas
- Five minutes or more – herbal infusions
